(Preble County, OH)--Messages of condolence were continuing to pour into the Preble County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning following the tragic death of a deputy Monday morning.  34-year-old Deputy Josh Hamilton, who lived in Eldorado, was killed when his marked patrol SUV collided with an oncoming vehicle on State Route 503 near West Alexandria at just past 4 o’clock Monday morning.  The driver of the other vehicle, 36-year-old Michael Gayhart of West Elkton, was also killed.  They were the only occupants of each vehicle.  Hamilton had joined the department in May of last year.  Funeral arrangements are pending.
