(Wayne County, IN)--It appears that Wayne County is in for some good news with what should be a huge drop in the number of substantiated cases of child abuse and neglect.  Last year, Wayne County had a total of 363 cases.  But this year, according to new numbers from the state, that total should drop by more than a hundred cases.  With only December totals not compiled so far, Wayne County has dropped to 211 cases for 2023.  This year will be the first year that Wayne County has had less than 300 cases of child abuse and neglect since at least 2016.
