(Whitewater Valley)--A new U.S. Drought map was issued Thursday by the Department of Agriculture, and it shows that the entire Whitewater Valley is now officially in a moderate drought.  Also Thursday, Preble County joined other area counties in issuing a burn ban.  It had already been in effect for Union, Fayette, and Franklin County.  According to the National Weather Service, Richmond has had less than 3/10 of an inch of rain this month and less than an inch over the last five weeks.
