CREDIT UNION TO VACATE CITY BUILDING
(Richmond, IN)--The KEMBA Credit Union, which had formerly operated as the Richmond City Employees Credit Union, is moving out of the city building. They’ve been there since 2013 and it was recently discovered that they never had a lease. And, they benefitted greatly. "They've been subsidized to the tune of about $3000 per month by the taxpayers for having that space," said Richmond Mayor Ron Oler, who added that KEMBA was paying only $200 per month. But, the discovery is not why they’re moving out. It’s because the city building is one of KEMBA’s lowest performing branches. Company reps are coming Friday …"to actually go and look at spaces. They're about this close to finding a space and moving out," Oler added. Other city departments have requested the office space.
