(UNION COUNTY, IN) - Fire crews battled a massive barn fire Tuesday afternoon on E Kitchel Road in Union County, with flames visible as far away as Richmond.

Multiple departments responded with mutual aid, including four tankers, and remained on scene for about six hours.

Liberty Fire Chief Jim Franklin says the fire started as a man tried to jump-start a truck inside the barn using a tractor.

The structure, used for equipment and hay storage, was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
