COUNCIL MEMBER: LAWSUIT INVOLVING VEHICLE PURCHASES POSSIBLE
(Richmond, IN)--One member of Richmond Common Council is indicating that there is a potential for a lawsuit involving the purchase of eight police vehicles last fall. Back in late September, a letter written on city letterhead and signed by Assistant Chief of Police Adam Blanton indicated the intent to purchase eight 2026 Ford Explorers from Wetzel Auto. The council member alleges that purchasing procedures were not followed, that the Board of Works never approved the purchase, and that Wetzel Auto is "sitting on eight police cruisers." To date, no lawsuits have been filed.
