Wow! Woke up this morning to the new Scotty McCreery release, "Rise and Fall" and I wasn't sure what decade I was in. McCreery has created a collection of music that rivals any 90's release from his heroes. He doesn't get enough credit for keeping that sound alive. There isn't one song to skip. Steeped in Traditionalism and strong hooks, "Rise and Fall" travels through backroads with tire-biting-dogs, tractors, beer, and old men but never teeters on the brink of "cliche". He channels his inner Joe Diffie on "Can't Pass the Bar" and delivers another great drinkin' song with "And Countin'". The theme of "No Country For Old Men" has been done before but seldom so expertly; the hook hits home. Download "Rise and Fall" today and listen start to finish for the full effect. Good stuff.
