"My heart nearly stopped because that thing was in here with me," explained Swisher.

The large rat snake pictured above sent shock waves through Swishers body when it hit her feet during her drive. She says she is just lucky she didn't wreck.

"I don't remember much about it. Panic kind of took over. The only thing I know is God had his hand on me and on my car."

Swisher says she called 9-1-1 to get some help.

"She asked me to repeat my request and I told her I had a snake in my car," said Swisher.

Minutes later officers and animal control showed up. With some help they took apart the glove box and removed the snake."
