There are a wide variety of vehicles that get driven to proms across the country: sportscars, classic cars, monster trucks, and TANKS???

 

A pair of high school students went to prom in Portland, Oregon in a WWII-era tank. This obviously wasn't a spur-of-the-moment idea - the students launched a GoFundMe back in February to raise the money to rent the vehicle, exceeding their goal of $1,000 (they raised $1,675). 

 

There is a deeper meaning to the tank rental for one of the students, whose father, a big history buff and fan of tanks, passed away after a battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.

 

As for plans for next year's prom? Skydiving is apparently in the discussion.
